Job Summary:

The Nuclear Engineer will support Extended Power Uprate (EPU) initiatives for Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) and Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) units by providing technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle. This role involves reviewing design input requests, validating technical deliverables, assessing plant impacts, and ensuring compliance with design, operational, and licensing requirements to facilitate regulatory approval and plant modifications.

Responsibilities:

• Support EPU project activities related to PWR and BWR fleet uprate initiatives.
• Review and evaluate Design Input Requests (DIRs) for external engineering analyses.
• Perform technical reviews and owner acceptance of engineering task reports and documentation.
• Assess impacts of proposed EPU changes on plant systems, design basis, operations, licensing, and configuration management.
• Provide technical recommendations for plant modifications to support power uprate implementation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineering, operations, licensing, design, and project management.
• Identify technical risks, issues, and opportunities related to EPU implementation.
• Support preparation and review of regulatory documentation, licensing evaluations, and engineering deliverables.
• Ensure technical work products comply with industry, regulatory, and company standards.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of commercial nuclear power plant experience.
• Strong knowledge of nuclear plant systems, engineering, operations, design, or licensing processes.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary technical environment.
• Strong analytical, technical writing, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in reviewing complex engineering analyses and providing sound technical recommendations.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline preferred.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience with SNC fleet, including Plant Hatch or Plant Vogtle Units 1 & 2 operations, engineering, design, licensing, or modifications.
• Familiarity with SNC fleet procedures, plant systems, configuration management, and engineering processes.
• Nuclear plant operations experience including system operation, troubleshooting, abnormal conditions, and procedure usage.
• Experience preparing or reviewing engineering analyses, design changes, design input documents, and technical reports.
• Strong systems engineering background with understanding of plant system interactions and performance.
• Direct experience supporting power uprate projects and engineering design basis evaluations.
• Experience with nuclear licensing activities, NRC submittals, and regulatory correspondence.
• Experience supporting operations, engineering, design, or licensing at other commercial PWR or BWR nuclear facilities.
• Direct involvement in power uprate projects and understanding of associated engineering, operational, and licensing considerations.

• Work involves supporting regulatory licensing activities and may require adherence to strict nuclear industry standards and protocols.
• Collaboration across multiple disciplines and departments is essential.

Scheduling:

• Position duration is 10 months; specific work schedule and shift patterns are not detailed but may align with project needs.
