Job Specification: Technology Architect Data Governance

Role Title: Technology Architect | Consulting - Data Governance

Work Location: Atlanta, GA 30339 (Onsite - Candidates willing to relocate will be considered)

Contract Duration: 12 Months

Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Technology Architect with 10+ years of experience specializing in Data Governance , Alation Data Catalog , and Data Product Strategy . The candidate will serve as the authoritative bridge between business stakeholders and engineering teams, driving enterprise-wide data governance standards, medallion layer promotions, and data contracts.

Key Responsibilities

Data Governance & Quality: Own domain data definitions, business rules, and semantic accuracy across Gold layer enterprise data assets.
Data Architecture & Standards: Define and maintain data contracts, SLAs, and certified dataset criteria.
Medallion Layer Strategy: Drive Medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold/Platinum) promotion standards to establish clear criteria for enterprise-certified data.
Alation Catalog Management: Partner with the Catalog team to manage and enrich the Alation platform regarding business glossaries, metadata, and lineage documentation.
Data Product Strategy: Lead C-level discussions on data product strategy, business value, platform direction, and governance frameworks.
Executive Deliverables: Hands-on creation and delivery of executive-ready presentations (direct execution without delegating to support staff).

Required Qualifications & Skills

Minimum Experience: 10+ years of professional experience in Data Architecture, Governance, and Data Strategy.
Must-Have Core Skills:
1. Data Governance (Frameworks, SLAs, Data Contracts, Business Glossaries)
2. Alation (Data Cataloging, Business Glossary, Lineage Mapping)
3. Data Product Strategy (Medallion Layer Architecture, Executive Stakeholder Management)
